This is a seriously authentically flavoured oil, which was utterly delicious as an accompaniment dip for my bourbon maple red onion and feta sourdough bread (yes, this infused bread was made with one of the balsamics). The smokiness was the perfect intense-level for me personally, and it brought my appetiser to a whole new level. One of your best!
Strawberry Watermelon Rosé Shrub
We've mixed fresh strawberries with our Watermelon Rosé Fruit Vinegar to create a refreshing shrub. The juicy sweetness of unfiltered Italian watermelon pulp and the balanced tartness of rosé balsamic vinegar work beautifully together. For a simple cocktail, we suggest pairing this shrub with gin or vodka and plain seltzer or lime-flavored seltzer. It's a delicious way to enjoy a refreshing beverage!
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup Watermelon Rosé Fruit Vinegar
Instructions
Place strawberries and sugar in a sealable container and stir to combine. Seal and place in the refrigerator for 5 days (up to 1 week), stirring every other day to make sure the sugar and fruit are well blended (the mixture should look very juicy towards the end of the maceration time). Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a medium bowl, really pushing as much juice through the strainer as possible. Discard any fruity dregs left in the strainer. Add the vinegar to the bowl and whisk to combine. Pour the shrub into a clean jar, cover, and refrigerate for up to 6 months.
